Who you are

In this role, you will be a member of the national Professional Education & Training Team, where you will play a crucial role in securing a high-quality and future-oriented education for the participants in the education programs of your assigned IKEA locations. IMPORTANT: The national Professional Education & Training Team operates remotely and meets around twice a month in Spreitenbach for team meetings. As the primary contact person for more than one IKEA location, this position includes regular travelling to the assigned IKEA locations. We’re looking for a team colleague who will be responsible for the French-speaking IKEA locations or the IKEA location in Lugano.

- Ideally, you already have experience in the field of Human Resources and/or Vocational education
- You speak fluent French and Italian and have a very good command of English. German is an advantage.
- You are dynamic and trustworthy, maintain open communication and keep an overview in challenging situations.
- You have good digital skills, are structured, independent and reliable.


What you'll be doing day to day

- Strongly support the integration of the vocational education processes in the Units through regular exchanges on site with the local Management teams and the vocational trainers (from recruitment to retention)
- Ensure that the implementation of our programs complies with the federal Ordinance for vocational education, federal and cantonal guidelines, as well as the IKEA Professional Education Strategy.
- Empower the growth of our vocational trainers, ensuring that participants are trained in alignment with IKEA’s guidelines, while also supporting the professional and personal development of our participants.
- Assist vocational trainers in defining individual educational plans for apprentices, monitor progress, assess performance, and intervene or mediate in challenging situations as needed.
- Work closely with the Professional Education & Training Leader (your Line Manager) on strategic initiatives to further develop and strengthen the topic within the organization and in the market.

Our team within Ikea

The Professional Education & Training department is entrusted with the responsibility of supporting around 130 interns and apprentices, 40 participants in our integration programs for refugees and several co-workers in an adult education program. Our goal is to provide participants with an education that not only equips them with professional and personal skills to start a successful career but also to help them build confidence, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills.
