Job Description
TimkenSteel is currently seeking a Mill Operator at our Canton, Ohio steelmaking facility, offering up to $26.00 per hour plus overtime and comprehensive benefits. As a Mill Operator, you will work as part of a skilled production team to operate heavy machinery, monitor metallurgical processes, and ensure quality steel products used in automotive, energy, and industrial applications. You will gain hands-on experience in machining, casting, and finishing while contributing to one of Ohio’s leading steel producers. This role includes progression opportunities into lead operator and supervisory positions.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate mill equipment to process steel safely and efficiently
• Monitor gauges, sensors, and computer systems to maintain production standards
• Perform quality inspections and record production data accurately
• Assist in setup, changeover, and maintenance of production lines
• Handle materials using cranes, hoists, and forklifts (training provided)
• Adhere strictly to company safety standards and OSHA regulations
Requirements
• Legal authorisation to work in the USA (visa sponsorship considered for skilled candidates)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial processes
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot and noisy environments
• Commitment to reliability, teamwork, and following safety protocols
