Maersk Fleet Management and Technology is responsible for Ship Management of all the Maersk owned container vessels. The operation is primarily conducted out of Copenhagen, Singapore and Mumbai.
We are looking for a career-minded professional to join us as a Fleet Superintendent to be a part of our Fleet Operations team in Singapore.
You will be part of a Fleet Group team referring to the Fleet Manager and will be directly responsible for Ship Management of approximately 6 container vessels. In this leadership position, you will be well-supported by a team of technical and operation Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Key responsibilities
Responsible for the daily ship management of vessels under responsibility
Ensuring timely and sufficient support to vessels on all operational and technical matters at all times.
Visiting vessels and preparing inspection reports on vessels under responsibility.
Ensuring safety is a top priority in all our vessel operations.
Preparing financial budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications and dry-dockings for vessels under responsibility.
Responsible for cost control on ship management budget and explaining to Management any significant deviations from budgets for vessels under responsibility.
Planning and coordination of inspections and execution of dry-docking for the vessels under Fleet operations responsibility and as assigned.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant international and local regulations and that all vessel certification and surveys for class, flag and international requirements are maintained.
Following-up on the performance of the vessels under responsibility and for arranging corrective actions to be carried out when necessary.
Conducting performance appraisals for Masters and Chief Engineers serving on board vessels under responsibility.
Close liaison with the internal stakeholders of Liner Operations and Stowage as required on all aspects of the management of assigned vessels.
In these tasks, the objectives of the Superintendent are to deliver the most effective and efficient ship management service in full alignment with objectives and work culture of the organization.
The ideal candidate we’re looking for:
With a Marine Engineering education and experience as Senior Marine Engineer or Dual/navigation officer and/or relevant class surveyor experience
Prior experience as a Technical Superintendent managing Container vessels, beneficial but not essential.
Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal and can work efficiently with multicultural teams ashore and on board.
Effective stakeholder management in this role is essential combined with identification and escalation of key risks.
A diligent and organized work approach, with a clear understanding and focus on the importance of cost effectiveness.
Enhanced problem solving skills and an interest in tackling challenges with innovative solutions and maximizing the use of resources available.
