Job Description:
Helsinki International School is seeking a qualified English Language Teacher to join its primary and secondary school faculty. This role is ideal for native or fluent English speakers with a passion for international education and cross-cultural teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver English lessons to students aged 10–16 following the Cambridge or IB curriculum
Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities
Support students’ language acquisition and literacy development
Maintain student records and communicate progress with parents
Collaborate with multilingual teaching teams and attend staff meetings
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, TESOL, or related field
Teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
2+ years of classroom teaching experience preferred
Fluency in English; Finnish is not required
Eligible to work in Finland or able to obtain a residence/work permit
