DESCRIPTION
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Key job responsibilities
• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for data centers
• Partner with teams to develop innovative cooling solutions and sustainability initiatives
• Create comprehensive documentation for mechanical designs and operational procedures
• Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
• Guide project teams through planning, execution, and commissioning phases

A day in the life
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mechanical systems, participate in design reviews, and mentor fellow engineers. Your expertise will help create energy-efficient solutions while ensuring operational excellence. You'll engage with stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze data, and implement improvements that enhance our facilities' performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience designing power delivery systems and cooling infrastructure
- Experience with large-scale industrial cooling systems
- Knowledge of structural design analysis and equipment certification requirements
- Understanding of HVAC systems and lean manufacturing principles and ability interpret technical drawings and specifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with data center design and construction
- Knowledge of building management systems
- Understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- Familiarity with building codes (NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
- Experience with mechanical economization technologies
