Job Description:
Cooper/T. Smith is seeking physically capable and safety-conscious Dock Workers for its operations on the Mississippi River in New Orleans. This role is essential to loading, unloading, and securing cargo on vessels in one of America’s busiest ports.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in mooring and unmooring of barges and ships
Handle cargo loading and unloading using rigging equipment
Operate winches, lines, and other deck tools as needed
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of dock and equipment
Comply with all safety and environmental regulations
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform strenuous physical labor
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
TWIC card required (or ability to obtain)
