Job Description:
Cooper/T. Smith is hiring experienced and entry-level Tugboat Deckhands for operations on the Lower Mississippi River based out of New Orleans. This is an ideal opportunity for those interested in marine transportation and long-term careers in the towing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in vessel mooring, barge handling, and tow building
Perform deck maintenance, line handling, and basic mechanical checks
Follow captain and mate instructions to ensure safe vessel operations
Maintain cleanliness and safety of all deck equipment
Comply with USCG and company safety regulations
Requirements:
Valid TWIC card and U.S. Coast Guard credentials preferred
Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and background check
Strong work ethic and willingness to work a rotational schedule
Previous experience on inland waterways or maritime vessels a plus
Must be able to work safely in a physically demanding environment
