Job Description:
Babcock & Wilcox is hiring a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of advanced energy and environmental systems at our Charlotte, NC location. This position plays a key role in equipment design, technical documentation, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Design mechanical systems and components using CAD software
Support thermal, structural, and fluid flow calculations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, fabrication, and installation phases
Prepare engineering documentation including technical reports, BOMs, and drawings
Ensure compliance with industry codes, customer requirements, and safety standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in mechanical or thermal system design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools
Strong understanding of ASME codes and power industry standards
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
