About the job
The Sr Manager of Data Strategy will report to the Vice President of Strategy, Insights & Analytics. This individual will manage Danone’s data strategy, custom point of sale database & contracts, data mapping & integration in Danone’s Microsoft tech stack, and analysis to insights & action. It requires a deep understanding of data management, Point of Sale & Household Panel databases, analytic thinking, and business strategy to drive data-informed decisions and initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management
Develop and implement data strategies to support business objectives, fuel reporting & automation, and enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Oversee the integration and utilization of the Circana Unify Platform and databases, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Data Management
Align data strategies with business requirements to identify necessary data and metrics.
Scope and set up data extracts (primarily with syndicated Point of Sale & Panel data suppliers) to ensure seamless data integration.
Apply knowledge of relational databases and data modeling techniques to support data warehousing functions, including ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)
Map data across different sources to create comprehensive datasets for analysis.
Lead problem-solving initiatives and apply critical thinking to resolve data-related challenges.
Manage projects related to data strategy and analytics, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Manage and query data using Snowflake, ensuring efficient and effective data retrieval.
Data Analysis
Analyze and interpret Point of Sale data and Household Panel data to provide actionable insights.
Utilize PowerBI to create detailed and functional data visualizations and reports.
Develop clear and concise reports and data visualizations using self-serve datasets.
Utilize advanced Excel skills and Excel Power Query for data analysis and reporting.
Develop compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Skills & Abilities
Experience working in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry with understanding of industry dynamics and data.
Proven experience with Circana Unify Platform and databases, hierarchies.
Experience in scoping and setting up data extracts with data suppliers.
In-depth experience in data mapping across diverse data sources.
Background in querying data from Snowflake and utilizing its functionalities.
Strong analytical skills in handling Point of Sale data and Household Panel data.
Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL and PowerBI.
Ability to create detailed reports and visualizations using self-serve datasets.
Experience with Microsoft Azure for data storage, integration and management.
Advanced Excel skills, including Excel Power Query.
Knowledge of relational databases, data modeling techniques, and basic data warehousing concepts, including ETL processes.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.
Proficiency in PowerPoint presentation development.
Ability to align data strategies with business requirements and objectives.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to synthesize complex topics into simple, clear communications.
The base compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $165,000 per year commensurate with experience. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options. Qualifications
B.S./B.A. (required) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field
M.S./MBA (preferred) Data Science, Business Analytics or related field
7+ years of experience in Data Strategy & Data Management. Consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
