Job Description:
Shell is seeking Process Operators for its Deer Park Refinery near Houston, TX. This role is critical in maintaining safe and efficient refinery operations by monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and distillation towers
Ensure process safety and environmental compliance in daily operations
Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on equipment
Work closely with engineers and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance
Respond to emergencies and implement safety protocols as required
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (Associate degree in Process Technology preferred)
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in refining, petrochemical, or industrial operations
Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong understanding of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in outdoor conditions
