Position Summary:
The Associate Packaging Specialist is responsible for defining, documenting, and implementing packaging solutions that comply with Nestlé's packaging policy, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory standards are met. This role involves integrating packaging processes with SAP, enhancing operations, and introducing environmentally sustainable packaging solutions that deliver value to our patients, consumers, and customers. You will also provide technical support, guidance, and expertise to cross-functional teams in packaging-related projects. This role requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovation & Renovation Projects: Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality/R&D, and Sales/Marketing to manage material qualification processes and create packaging specifications in SAP. Act as a packaging expert supporting new product introductions, cost reductions, and higher quality.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure all packaging materials comply with regulatory bodies and company policies. Ensure packaging meets food safety standards, including documentation for food-contact packaging.
Packaging System Performance: Support the installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment. Provide ongoing technical support and ensure knowledge transfer to eliminate recurring issues.
Sustainability: Work with internal and external partners to develop long-term, sustainable packaging solutions. Focus on minimizing environmental footprints while enhancing packaging functionality and consumer value.
Experience & Education Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 0–3 years in packaging within the food and beverage industry.
Skills: Experience with SAP, a clear understanding of packaging materials, systems, and equipment. Familiarity with industry standards for regulatory compliance and food safety.
Additional Skills: Strong critical thinking, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent communication skills in interpersonal, oral, and written formats. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project). Knowledge of SAP & CAPE Palletization Program is a plus.
