About the Role
We are seeking an Asset Maintenance Manager for our Confectionery plant in Girvan, Scotland. This role will oversee the engineering team to ensure the plant operates efficiently and safely, delivering high-quality products on time.
Nestlé Girvan Factory is a key supplier of materials to the York Factory, supporting the production of iconic brands like Kit Kat, Aero, Milky Bar, and Yorkie. Our products are made using controlled processing plants, automated filling systems, and packing lines.
Key Responsibilities
As the Asset Maintenance Manager, you will report to the Factory Operations Manager and be responsible for managing the maintenance team to meet production and engineering demands. You will ensure that critical work is completed on time, while complying with all Nestlé health and safety standards.
Your key tasks will include:
Aligning engineering resources with the factory’s strategic objectives.
Ensuring that Planned Maintenance activities are carried out according to schedule.
Leading and supporting a team of around 7 engineers on a daily basis.
Creating a structured maintenance environment with clear expectations of behavior and performance.
Managing and reporting on an annual maintenance budget.
Supporting the implementation of Asset Maintenance and TPM-PM to optimize performance across safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Analyzing breakdowns and implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
Promoting a safety-conscious work environment and ensuring compliance with Nestlé Safe Working and hygiene practices.
Proactively managing Opportunity Maintenance for non-operational equipment.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, with the ability to motivate and develop their team, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Key qualifications and experience include:
Proven experience in a people management role within a food manufacturing or engineering setting.
Experience working in a unionized environment.
A degree, diploma, or HNC in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical & Automation, Process, Industrial Engineering, etc.) is preferred.
A track record of successfully meeting targets, driving improvements, and managing budgets.
A sound understanding of factory operations, including TPM/Lean, health & safety, employment regulations, and quality/hygiene standards.
