Refinery Operator

Job Summary:
Gulf Coast Refining & Petrochemicals is seeking a skilled Refinery Operator to oversee and maintain refinery processes, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in monitoring, controlling, and troubleshooting refinery units while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control refinery processes to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
Operate machinery and equipment, including pumps, compressors, furnaces, and heat exchangers
Conduct routine inspections to detect and prevent potential malfunctions
Adjust controls and settings based on process requirements and safety guidelines
Analyze operational data and take corrective actions to maintain product quality
Respond to alarms and emergency situations, following established safety procedures
Perform regular maintenance checks and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations
Record operational data and prepare reports on system performance and production output

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Technical degree preferred)
3+ years of experience in a refinery, chemical plant, or related industry
Strong knowledge of refinery processes, industrial equipment, and safety procedures
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems for process control
Certifications such as TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential), HAZMAT, and OSHA 30 (preferred)
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
