Your 'day to day'

As a Math and Product Artificial Intelligence Engineer, you will implement advanced mathematical and Artificial Intelligence solutions related to complex product and operational challenges, ensure successful delivery of impactful, data-driven solutions that align with the company’s objectives by collaborating across R&D, product development, and data science teams. Moreover, you will be responsible for strategies related to the implementation of novel technologies reinforcing and enabling the enriching & optimization of PMI ecosystems’ analytics solutions to meet business needs. You will also provide support to teams by assessing their analytical requirements, identifying business needs and opportunities for analytics solutions development in line with company’s sustainable growth ambitions. You will ensure scalability and customer-centricity of analytical products and lead fast prototyping capabilities.


More specifically, you'll

• Be responsible for Advanced Mathematical and Artificial Intelligence Model Development. Design the creation of complex mathematical models to solve high-impact business and product challenges. Develop and deploy advanced Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning models, to improve techniques such as deep learning, probabilistic modeling, and optimization algorithms. Identify, evaluate, develop, implement and maintain novel AI/Machine Learning approaches.

• Lead Product and Process Innovation. Drive innovation by integrating Artificial Intelligence and mathematical insights into product development and optimization workflows. Collaborate with product teams to design experiments and prototypes that improve Artificial intelligence for enhanced functionality and performance. Establish metrics to evaluate product efficiency, quality, and user impact. Conduct knowledge transfer to other teams to ensure optimal use of novel approaches.

• Ensure collaboration and engagement with teams. Work closely with multi-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and engineers, to align technical efforts with business goals. Communicate complex mathematical and Artificial Intelligence concepts to technical and non-technical teams clearly and concisely. Represent the Math Center of Excellence in global and regional forums, sharing insights and driving collaboration.


Who we're looking for

• Master’s Degree, PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in tobacco or consumer goods industry, in Applied Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Mathematical Modeling, as well as sound expertise in specific related technology areas. Good understanding of key processes in technology delivery. Demonstrated expertise in solving complex real-world problems with advanced mathematical and Artificial Intelligence techniques.

• Advanced proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, MATLAB, or Julia. Expertise in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning libraries and frameworks.

• Strong collaboration, agility and entrepreneurship, analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to learn.

• Fluent in English (verbally and written); strong communicator with the ability to influence.
