Data Governance Specialist (f/m/d) 80-100%

As a Data Governance Manager in the Data Ecosystem & Analytics team, you will lead efforts to establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data compliance, quality, and security, ultimately supporting informed decision-making and business growth.

Key tasks and responsibilities
• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with different business units to define data ownership, data stewardship, and data classification
• Drive implementation and usage of appropriate tools to document and monitor data governance appropriately
• Establish and maintain data quality standards as well as metrics and implement data quality improvement initiatives
• In collaboration with the security team, monitor and enforce data access and security controls to protect sensitive information.
• Conduct data audits and assessments to identify data quality issues and areas for improvement
• Provide data governance training and guidance to employees across the organization, act as an ambassador for data governance
• Stay current with data governance best practices and industry standards

Key skills / requirements
• Master degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
• Proven experience as a Data Governance Specialist or a similar role with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge of principles, frameworks, and best practices in data governance and quality
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, EU Data Governance Act, EU Cybersecurity act, CH revDSG)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams
• Experience with data governance tools and software, Data governance certification is a plus
• English and German language at professional working proficiency; knowledge of Spanish is a plus
